My personal mission is to identify the potential in people, brands, and processes to courageously develop them.
As a college student at Boise State University studying communication/part-time touring musician for an indie rock band, I developed an obsession with the fast-changing world of marketing and computer mediated communication. I realized what was only previously experienced face to face was now happening screen to screen. And, it was meaningful.
I wanted to be a part of this shift and have a positive impact on the conversations that were happening there.
So, I co-founded a digital marketing agency straight out of college. There, I learned how to be a well-rounded digital marketer. I consulted companies big and small including brands like Syringa Networks, Cabela’s International and many others. This experience shaped me into the passionate and constant learner of digital marketing I still am today.
Next, I jumped client-side and spent four years building an in-house digital marketing program from the ground up for Employers Resource, #11 on the Idaho Private 100. As the Digital Marketing Manager, our programs tripled traffic to the website and grew monthly lead generation by more than 3400%. By year three, half of all new revenue the company saw was from digital marketing.
In the middle of 2017 I began picking up some consulting gigs as a side-hustle. This is how I met Jon and Ben at Zoomshift.com. The relationship began as a contract gig, but we loved working together and I left my comfortable role at Employers Resource to join their team as employee #1. I took on the role of Director of Marketing at the company in November of 2017 to help them grow their revenue.
For the next six months I planned, organized, and implemented a high velocity of minimum viable experiments in order to identify potential growth channels and improve existing core channels. During this process I contributed to the company seeing an increase in their MRR by 15%, their free trial volume by 400%, and organic search traffic by 50%.
